Hi, I'm Jill. Welcome to my website!

If you are stuck in a rut regarding your weight, maybe my story can help you. I'm really passionate about health and fitness. However, I haven't always been fit and healthy. I have never been overweight, but up until a couple of years ago, I felt as if I had been on a diet for most of my life. As I was getting older, it was becoming harder to stay slim and I was having to resort to more extreme diets and fewer calories. At one point, I was eating as little as 800 calories per day.

I also used to feel hungry most of the time. I would try to limit myself to just fruit and veg every day, however my cravings usually got the better of me at some point and I would end up tucking into high calorie snacks late at night, not wanting to go to bed feeling hungry.

To sum it all up, I was convinced that I had wrecked my metabolism. So three years ago, I started running again. I had spent a few years running regularly and entering races when I was a lot younger, so taking it up again wasn't like taking up a new sport. I just put on my old running shoes and off I went. A couple of months later, I discovered low carb. I was reading stuff on the internet, and had the thought that this was something I hadn't tried. It didn't really appeal to me, as I love fruit, veg, pasta and bread, and I just thought it would be really hard to follow. However, I decided to give it a try, and I haven't looked back. I have now lost the half stone which refused to shift on a low fat, low calorie diet. I can now eat more than I used to be able to eat. And if I do over-indulge and find that I have put on a few pounds, I know how to lose it quickly and easily without feeling hungry.

My blog is a mixture of how low carb works for me, other diet news and reviews and low carb and low GI recipes that I particularly like. I have just started blogging about running, and am planning some interesting posts around how to follow a low carb lifestyle and combine it with runnng or other aerobic activities.
